Xinwei Deng is a Professor of Statistics and Data Science Faculty Fellow at Virginia Tech. He is also a co-director of VT Statistics and Artificial Intelligence Laboratory (VT-SAIL). Deng obtained his Ph.D. degree from Georgia Institute of Technology in 2009 under the supervision of Jeff Wu and Ming Yuan. He joined in the statistics department at Virginia Tech since 2011.
